Almost Called
Spring Lake.
In 1967, developers planned a brand-new community on Florida's Gulf Coast and planned to call it Spring Lake — until they found out the name was already taken. Spring Hill stuck, and the place outgrew every projection anyone made for it: from 6,468 residents in 1980 to over 113,000 today, the single largest community Farrell Roofing serves.

A Name Mix-Up, A Mail-Order Town
The Deltona Corporation and the Mackle Brothers — the same developers behind the community of Deltona — platted Spring Hill from scratch in 1967 and sold lots through national mail-order advertising campaigns, sight unseen, the way a lot of mid-century Florida got built. The Suncoast Parkway's completion in 2001 only accelerated what was already the fastest-growing community in our service area. Somewhere along the way, Spring Hill picked up some unmistakable roadside character — a gas station on US 19 shaped like a dinosaur, a pink apatosaurus statue down the road from it — and a quieter claim to fame: longtime resident Ricou Browning, the filmmaker who played the Gill-man in Creature from the Black Lagoon and later created Flipper, made his home in the same Old Florida world as the Weeki Wachee mermaids next door.

Spring Hill's Growth, By Decade
When Was Your Wave Built?
Spring Hill's census numbers tell the story directly: the 1990s added more residents than any decade before or since, with the 1980s and 2000s close behind. That's not a steady trickle of new construction — it's three enormous waves of homes built within about thirty years of each other.
A standard shingle roof lasts 15–20 years in Florida's climate; architectural shingles run 20–25. If your home falls into one of these waves, a free inspection tells you exactly where you stand — no guessing.

Tens of Thousands of Roofs, Same Age
Spring Hill added more than 90,000 residents between 1980 and 2010 alone. That much growth in that short a window means a massive concentration of roofs aging into replacement territory at the same time — not spread evenly, but in waves.
Hernando County Permits
County Process, Not City Hall
Spring Hill has never incorporated, so every permit runs through Hernando County Building Services rather than a local city office. We submit and track that paperwork daily — it's routine for us, not a detour.
Inland, Not Gulf-Front
Different Wind Code, Real Savings
Spring Hill's inland position carries lower wind-speed requirements than Gulf-front Pasco and Pinellas communities. That often opens up material options that deliver the same real-world protection for meaningfully less.
Insurance Non-Renewals
A Roof That Resolves the Notice
A lot of Spring Hill homeowners are getting non-renewal notices tied to roof age, not roof damage. A code-compliant replacement with our documentation package is usually enough to resolve it before the policy lapses.
