Richey.
Aaron Richey put a post office in his living room here in 1884 — a year before anyone called the place next door “New” anything. Farrell Roofing has been headquartered a few blocks from that same river for more than two decades: same streets, same trucks, same crew, every single day.

Field Notes - Port Richey, FL
The Richey Before New Port Richey
Aaron M. Richey arrived from Missouri in 1883 and settled near the mouth of the Pithlachascotee River, opening a post office in his own home the following year. When the community up the road incorporated as “New Port Richey” in 1924, Port Richey followed a year later, partly in response — making this the older name, even though it's now the smaller of the two. The town has never been glamorous, but it's had its moments: Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash owned a home on the river here from 1979 to 2002, inherited from June's mother, Maybelle Carter. Port Richey's population has bounced up and down for a hundred years, and proposals to dissolve the city have come before voters more than once. It's still here every time.

What Our Own Backyard Asks Of A Roof
We Don’t Have To
Guess Here
Pithlachascotee River
Riverfront Roofs, Marina Neighbors
Homes near Gill Dawg Marina and the river live with constant humidity and boat traffic noise, but the roofing answer is the same as anywhere on the water — marine-grade fasteners and flashing that won't quietly corrode for a decade before anyone notices.
City of Port Richey Permits
Its Own City Hall, Its Own Rules
Port Richey incorporated in 1925 and still runs its own permitting separate from the county. We're three blocks from that building — we know the process and the people in it personally.
Established Neighborhoods
Older Homes, Original Footprints
Port Richey's housing stock is small, old, and tightly platted compared to the newer subdivisions we serve elsewhere. Matching rooflines and materials on a home this established takes a different kind of care than a builder-grade subdivision roof.
Gulf Proximity
Saltwater Air, Every Single Day
Our own headquarters sits in the same salt air every Port Richey roof has to survive. Every install we spec here gets road-tested by the same conditions we drive through to get to the office.
Life On The Pithlachascotee
Around Port Richey
This is the four square miles we know better than anywhere else we work — because it’s where we work from every single day.
On the Pithlachascotee River
Gill Dawg Marina
Dry storage, charters, and a dockside restaurant that’s been the river’s anchor point for as long as most residents can remember.
Catches, Whiskey River, and the rest
The Riverfront Dining Row
A short stretch of waterfront restaurants where the parking lot is half cars, half boat trailers — about as Port Richey as it gets.
Kayaking, hiking, birding
Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park
A few minutes north of the city — mangrove creeks and salt marsh trails that make it easy to forget Tampa is 35 miles away.

“1 day and done. They showed up like an army — very good job. The yard was cleaner after they left than before they arrived. Really great job, thanks to Juan.”
